| Title | Bezazian Branch Library, exterior view, ca. 1950s |
| Description | The 17th branch in the Chicago Public Library system, Bezazian was named in memory of Lieutenant Harold A. Bezazian, killed in the Battle of Luzon on March 11, 1945. Lieutenant Bezazian's father donated $50,000 toward the construction of the branch, with the stipulation that it be built in the neighborhood where his son had grown up. The building's architectural style is 1950s modern, with an expanse of glass windows, stone, and light and dark brick. Remodeled in 1981, Bezazian's special collections today include Vietnamese, Chinese and Spanish-language materials. Black and white photo, 9 x 7 in. |
