There, he told the students, "Dr. Martin Luther King is the first black man in American history whose birthday is recognized as a national holiday, and for this we must be thankful for people like Stevie Wonder, the King family, our Congressmen and people of goodwill throughout the world who labor to assure that King remains not only a part of Black American History, but the History of America." |
