| Title | Mayor Washington reads to Dominik Przekota |
| Description | On June 17, 1986, Mayor Harold Washington visited Chicago Public Library's West Belmont Branch to read Fox on Wheels by Edward Marshall to seven year old Dominik Przekota and his second grade class from Ole Thorpe School. Dominik won the "Story Connection Contest" in which children were asked which story they would most like the Mayor to read. When he was asked why he would like the Mayor to read that particular story, Dominik wrote, "I really like Fox and think that Mayor Washington would like him too...Fox and his friends are cool dudes, just like me and the Mayor." |
