DescriptionMayor Harold Washington attended a groundbreaking on June 9, 1987 for the new Holy Angels Church building at 607 Oakwood Boulevard. The Church had been destroyed by fire exactly a year earlier. Also present at the event was Cardinal Bernardin, Reverend George Clements, Chicago Sun Times' columnist Vernon Jarrett, boxer Mike Tyson, and fight promoter Don King.
