Description	The Museum of Broadcast Communications marked its opening with a Gala Reception on June 12, 1987. Established to pay homage to the contributions the Midwest has made to the broadcast industry, the museum has, among other things, an ongoing library of video tapes of news programs and hours of radio program tapes. Mayor Harold Washington attended the Gala.
