DescriptionDuring his re-election campaign, Mayor Harold Washington went on many "walks" around different neighborhoods and wards to talk to voters. He went "walking" along Devon Avenue on March 13, 1987 with U.S. Senator Paul Simon (IL). The Jewish Festival of Purim had begun the previous evening and the Mayor was presented with gifts of food from children.
