DescriptionOn May 20, 1987, Mayor Harold Washington delivered his State of the City Address at the annual League of Women Voters Convention. Washington outlined the top priorities of his second term: jobs, education, and housing. The Mayor stressed the fact that "we must fight in Washington D.C. for a fair return of the federal dollar and fight at home against the forces of corruption, mismanagement, and indifference."
