| Title | Lurie Garden, aerial view of construction, February 4, 2004 |
| Description | Aerial view showing the construction of the Lurie Garden. The western entrance to the BP Bridge (top, left) is aligned with the "seam" of the Lurie Garden. To the north and west of the garden there is a shoulder hedge which provides privacy and acts as a barrier to noise from the Pritzker Pavilion. The hedge is shaped like shoulders to "support" the headdress of the Pritzker Pavilion. The shoulder theme also references Carl Sandburg's famous "Chicago" poem with the line "City of the Big Shoulders". |
