DescriptionA worker welding one of the box girders before it was installed on BP Bridge. Columbus Drive was closed to traffic for a 12-hour period as workers installed three box girders making up BP Bridge's span. Two types of structural steel were used on the BP Bridge: large pipes with 20-inch diameters were used for the approach spans, and box girders were used for the span.
