TitleJay Pritzker Pavilion, construction of Great Lawn, October 17, 2003
DescriptionWith the trellis in place, workers begin constructing the Great Lawn. Built atop two stories of parking garages and railroad tracks, Millennium Park, at 24 ½ acres, is one of the largest green roofs in the world. After priming and waterproofing the rooftop so that water would not leak into the parking garage below, insulation was added for temperature control of the garage, and drainage matting was added.
