TitleJay Pritzker Pavilion, partially-built cantilever, ca. January 9, 2003
DescriptionLooking northeast toward the construction site and the partially-built cantilever, which provides support for the headdress. The nature of the design demanded that the structural steel had to be perfectly aligned to within a tolerance of one-eighth of an inch; most building projects require a one to two inch tolerance for structural steel. This stringency was necessary so that the ribbons on the headdress would line up perfectly.
