TitleCrown Fountain, LED installation, construction of towers, February 2, 2004
DescriptionClose-up view of newly installed light-emitting diode (LED) screens at Crown Fountain. Each LED pixel, made up of 5 individual LEDs, is capable of displaying a range of 4.4 trillion colors. Small black rectangles perpendicular to the screen individually shade each LED pixel from the obscuring effects of direct sunlight. The larger tabs or outriggers protruding from the video screen help support the glass block panels and absorb wind pressure.
