| Title | Crown Fountain, testing in Melbourne, Florida, January 17, 2003 |
| Description | A sample glass brick panel in front of an LED screen at the headquarters of Circle Redmont Inc. in Melbourne, Florida. The glass bricks selected for Crown Fountain had to be thin to retain clarity, making them proportionally closer to tiles than bricks. Circle Redmont, a pre-fabricated glass panel company, engineered and fabricated a hidden support structure for the glass brick walls of Crown Fountain's towers. Circle Redmont previously had made metal grates for sidewalks in New York that acted as skylights for underground subway stations. A similar design was used to create steel grids to capture the glass bricks for the towers of Crown Fountain. |
