| Title | Crown Fountain, water feature tests, August 25, 2002 |
| Description | The "gargoyle” nozzle of the Crown Fountain being tested at the Crystal Fountain headquarters in Concord, Ontario. The "gargoyle” feature of the Crown Fountain, the part where the face on the screen purses its lips together and a jet of water spouts out, harkens back to the more traditional feature of fountains that used the face of a god, or cherub, as a source of water. Great care had to be taken to calculate the exact projection and flow rate for the jet of water to create the effect that Plensa designed, while avoiding injury to small children who would be playing below it. |
