| Description | A worker refines the surface of the sculpture using a double action disk sander, rubbing out the fine scratches left from the platen sander. The official dedication ceremony for Cloud Gate occurred May 16, 2006. Maggie Daley, wife of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, attended the ceremony and declared that it was officially Cloud Gate Day. Anish Kapoor also attended the dedication and stated that he was "deeply touched and truly proud of the way in which 'Cloud Gate', the Bean, has entered the public consciousness." |
