TitleCloud Gate, attaching steel plates, April 29, 2004
DescriptionProject supervisor Nick Taylor (left) of Performance Structures, Inc. (PSI) adjusts a steel plate as it is attached to the sculpture. Nick Taylor was the only representative from Performance Structures, Inc. that PSI's president Ethan Silva brought to Chicago to take part in the on-site building of the structure. Originally, Ethan Silva wanted to employ his own people to construct the sculpture on site, but he was unable to do so because of union jurisdiction. Local 63 Iron Workers, employed by the local architectural glass and metal firm MTH Industries, were brought in to do the on-site work.
