| Title | Cloud Gate, transportation study, Lake Shore Drive, ca. August 21, 2002 |
| Description | Looking north along Lake Shore Drive near East Jackson Drive in Chicago. Buildings along east Randolph Street are visible in the background, including the Buckingham Condominium (formerly Buckingham Plaza), 400 East Randolph Street Condominiums (formerly known as Outer Drive East), and Harbor Point. This is one of a series of photographs that follow the intended route the sculpture was to take from the Queen's Landing at Monroe Harbor, north along Lake Shore Drive, west on East Monroe Street, and north through Millennium Park to SBC Plaza. The plan to move the fully assembled sculpture from a barge in Monroe Harbor to Millennium Park was cancelled when it was decided that the sculpture would be trucked to Chicago in pieces, and assembled on site. |
