| Description | The structural steel of the sculpture (later named Cloud Gate) during a trial assembly at Performance Structures, Inc. (PSI) in Oakland, California. Before shipping the parts of the sculpture to Chicago, a partial assembly was done in which the base, structural steel and one third of the plates were assembled. The trial allowed PSI to plan the plate-hanging process, and ensure that they fit together. |
