| Description | Close-up of a section of the sub-frame structure during fabrication. The sub-frame sections were attached directly to the back of each of the curved plates that later would form the mirror-like "skin" of the sculpture. The sub-frame grid was designed to strengthen the plates and to reinforce the plates' shapes during transportation. The sections of the sub-frame, along with the rest of the interior supporting system, were built for PSI by Advanced Building and Metal Fabrication in Chico, California. |
