| Description | A worker positioning a flat steel plate into a roller. A custom made roller, similar to an English roller, was built by PSI to roll the steel plates into their curved shapes. The plates are shaped by moving them between pressurized rollers. The pressure on the rollers is adjusted to alter the degree of curvature. This process was used to get the plates within one-hundredth of an inch of their required dimensions. |
