| Description | John Bryan speaking at the dedication of the Millennium Monument at Wrigley Square. John Bryan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Millennium Park, Inc., led the fundraising campaign for enhancements in the park. At the start of the project, he was asked by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley to raise $30 million in private donations. By the dedication of the Millennium Monument in 2002, donations totaled $118 million, and continued to grow to $235 million, far surpassing Mayor Daley's initial request. |
