DescriptionInterior View. In 1957 this church was razed to make way for the Northwest Expressway (I-90/I-94). The congregation built a new church at 3000 N. Kedzie. St. Nicolai Evangelical Lutheran was founded on December 1, 1889. The original church, located in the 3100 block of St. Louis Avenue, was destroyed by fire in 1915. The church at Albany and Barry was built in 1916.
