DescriptionFrom 1948 through 1950, Richard Durham wrote scripts for a series of Black history radio dramas called "Destination Freedom." Durham had analyzed the Black press in Chicago for the Illinois Writers Project in the 1930s, and worked as a columnist for the Chicago Defender in the 1940's. "Destination Freedom" was broadcast on WMAQ in Chicago, with a cast that included Oscar Brown, Jr. and Studs Terkel.
