| Title | S.S. Mabel Bradshaw under way in the late 1890s |
| Description | This small, wooden passenger steamer was built in the Spring of 1889, and named for a relative of her owner, Hugh Bradshaw of Chicago. The Mabel Bradshaw's original service ran between Holland, Michigan and Chicago, but this was not profitable against competition and on account of the steamer's small size. Hugh Bradshaw then set her up to run between Chicago, White Lake and Pentwater, Michigan (as shown here), a route she traveled from 1895 to 1900. The Mabel Bradshaw changed hands many times, and her name once. She ended her service and was scrapped in 1918. |
